Retaining many features of the second generation, the Stellar S16G3 kayak continues to evolve. Stellar added .5”/1cm of beam for increased stability and a deeper keel with more concavity to improve tracking when the rudder is not deployed. These hull improvements help the S16 G3 appeal to a wider range of ability. A more slender bow and stern retain the efficiency of this hull while keeping its stability. Ergonomic rubber carry handles improve comfort when on land to and from the car, or during a portage on a trip.
 
The Stellar S16G2 multisport touring kayak was an instant classic. In launching the second generation (S16G2), Stellar built off the success of the initial design and its decade in the market. They've added a bit of waterline beam for some additional stability and the bow was made more plumb to increase the waterline length for better efficiency and tracking. The foredeck was redesigned to include a little more height to allow for paddlers with larger feet. Stellar also made the cutaways deeper to allow for a tighter and more efficient stroke. The cockpit rim was lowered along with the seat position which we moved to the bow allowing for easier back deck rolling. Rounding out the updates, an added 3rd hatch on the fore deck for your phone, VHF radio or snacks.
